DESCRIPTION

Anaerobic digestion is a process in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. The process produces biogas — primarily methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) — that can be converted into electrical and thermal energy. When the process of digestion is complete, a liquid sludge remains. Any organic material that has not been completely broken down will be separated into solids and liquids. The liquid can either undergo aerobic treatment or be recirculated through the digestion process. SAME VLM mixer uses a horizontal steel disc fixed to the outside of digester roof, connected to this support is a vertical shaft driven by an eccentric drive system. In the digester at the end of the vertical shaft is a hydro-disk that operates in a “up and down “motion at 0.5 cycles per second. This vertical movement creates a strong axial and lateral mixing needed for good mixing of the digester contents.
